AN ECLECTIC RESOURCE FOR DEATH VALLEY KNOWLEDGE, ODDITIES, STORIES, and MOVIES

Photos by Jack

Jack Freer of Gardnerville, Nevada has been an enthusiastic visitor to the Death Valley territory since he was a young lad (well, at least in his early twenties). He has also contributed interesting information to The Death Valley Journal from time to time, including links to some old hand-drawn maps that many of you may have downloaded by now. Jack has a passion for digital photography, and when he visits here, his 10-mega-pixel camera is standard gear.

This fine gentleman was also the failsafe squad for the Death Valley Tricycle Expedition, which occurred during the autumn of 2009. Of course, he used those days to capture yet more images around the expansive and grand Death Valley National Park. This page is dedicated to Jack’s eyes and brain, or more succinctly, what those three organs bring forth from the camera. In the spirit of Ansel Adams, the images have been rendered in black and white for this page so that folks on slower dial-up connections will have a chance to view them also. Grayscale images can add a certain ambiance to images not realized in color. Some folks love it, some may not.

This page has thumbnails, small images that lead to larger ones. If you click the first thumbnail, when the larger image appears, you will be able to proceed through the gallery collection by clicking the small image to the right and below each larger one. By clicking on the left-hand image, you may return to the previously viewed photograph. It should become crystal clear once you begin.

This gallery is also a test for the old desert rats to identify the location of each photograph.

Here then, are a few of Jack Freer’s Death Valley territorial photographs:

Do I need permission to use one of Jack’s photos in a video for public viewing? How can I acknowledge it?

    Thanks
